Heisman Winner

12 Dec

Cam Newton was named the new 2010 recipient of the Heisman Trophy!

Hmmm this is either good news to some or like myself, very odd.

check out a few of these URLs and see for yourself if you think he’s REALLY Heisman material.

But on the other hand, people would say otherwise.

One Response to “Heisman Winner”

Who puts his name on someone else’s paper and thinks the student won’t raise some questions when he gets an incomplete on that assignment? And who, after being caught for doing so, does it again – twice? It sounds like during his time at UF Cam wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box. This is a complex debate though, seeing as the Heisman is awarded for primarily athletic achievements and not necessarily moral character. Both sides could be argued. Some say the Heisman Trophy winner should be a morally sound, hard working and athletically talented individual. Others might say ethical issues in the classroom or with finances don’t discredit his hard work and achievements on the football field, and thus shouldn’t affect his candidacy for the Heisman. I’m still deciding where I stand on the issue, but it’s definitely something to think about!
